The Los Angeles Police Department added to its ranks on Friday with the graduation of 16 officers from the Los Angeles Police Academy.
The graduates are a diverse group of 13 men and three women. Of those, 13 are Hispanic, two are Black and one is white.
Two Los Angeles Port Police officers also graduated Friday.
The ceremony at Elysian Park Academy included representatives from Mayor Karen Bass’ office, members of the L.A. Board of Police Commissioners and LAPD command staff.
The graduating recruits completed 904 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks, according to the LAPD.
